Our Team:

The Global R&D Portfolio Strategy and Management team works with key stakeholders across the organization (R&D and GBUs) to support portfolio & project decision-making aligned to our corporate strategy and agreed TA strategies. The team’s remit is to:

Use advanced analytics to inform and shape decision making by senior leadership (e.g., stage gate analysis to determine optimal development strategy, scenario analysis, decision trees, pipeline sustainability, etc.). The Therapeutic Area (TA) Leads work with the Global Project teams (GPTs) to present these analytics at key Go/No go decisions during Governance meetings. The R&D Portfolio Strategy team ensures the consolidation of these analyses into a holistic TA and cross-TA portfolio view (pipeline volume, risk, value) with data visualization tools and makes recommendations as to optimize utilization of resources and facilitate trade-off discussion amongst senior leaders.

Ensure R&D asset, TA and Company pipeline valuation (including evolution of risk) are done in a continuous, rigorous, and comparable basis across Sanofi Research and Development Pharma and Vaccines, including the development of standard tools and an effective review process. Provide challenge to cross-functions and project teams’ assumptions via quantitative analyses of previous Sanofi performance and external benchmarks, integration of internal data available and external Open-source information using artificial intelligence approaches to draw insights and continuously identifying new sources of data that can inform quantitative analyses.Ensure robust pipeline reporting and benchmarking to support the R&D and portfolio strategy and portfolio sustainability linked to the external equity story in partnership with Investor Relations.Ensure robust external competitive intelligence insights to drive technology investments and asset strategy decisions. 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced R&D Portfolio Analytics Manager to join our team at our office in Hyderabad, India. As an R&D Portfolio Analytics Manager, you will support the team in driving portfolio performance insights, enabling efficient investment allocation, and delivering high-quality analytics. Your skills in data analytics, visualization, and portfolio financial metrics will contribute to shaping our R&D strategy.

Main responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Analytics & Visualization:

• Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across analytics platforms.

• Develop and maintain portfolio data visualizations under the guidance of senior team members

• Integrate multiple data sets and manage metadata to create comprehensive portfolio views

• Under guidance of senior team members, support ad-hoc TA analyses to support TA strategy discussions including prioritization, investment decisions, and portfolio rebalancing

2. Analytics Automation & Data Management:

• Conduct data manipulation processes to enable automation of routine visualizations from data extracts

• Assist in aggregating different data sources and metadata for streamlined reporting

• Contribute to structuring data and outputs to be AI-ready for future digital and AI products

• Maintain and enhance existing analytics tools and templates

3. Portfolio Strategy Support:

• Assist in developing strategic insights based on portfolio financial and risk metrics

• Support data-driven analysis of portfolio composition and performance

• Contribute to developing cohesive narratives from analytics that inform governance reviews, investment decisions, and TA strategy

• Support corporate planning processes with analytics including portfolio prioritization, budgeting, strategic planning, and KPI tracking for senior stakeholders such as R&D leadership team, corporate strategy, and integrated investment committee

About you

• Experience: 5–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical /healthcare industry, ideally in R&D and/or strategy related roles, or in strategy consulting roles. Experience working with complex data and visualizations. Exposure to cross-therapeutic area analytics and portfolio tools. Familiarity with Enrich/Planview (or similar tools) is a plus. Good understanding of portfolio financial and risk metrics is expected.

• Technical skills: Strong data management capabilities; proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (Excel including macros, VBA, PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI); solid analytical skills. Good understanding of NPV calculation and financial modelling concepts to support accurate interpretation of data and visualizations.

• Soft skills: Team player with ability to work effectively in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments; proactive and able to work independently on assigned tasks with guidance. Good slide-writing and presentation skills. Ability to identify key messages and business implications from data and analytics. Growth mindset and receptive to feedback and coaching.

• Education: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced/post-graduate degree is a plus. Understanding of R&D environment in the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage. Background in data sciences, analytics, or related quantitative field is beneficial.

• Languages: English (all data, reports and interactions with business stakeholders are managed in English)
