About the role:


Overview: The Product Owner is responsible for articulating and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data foundation, ensuring its alignment with overarching business objectives and the delivery of substantial value across the enterprise.  

The PO will serve as a critical link between business imperatives and technological capabilities, fostering the creation and evolution of data products that empower informed decision-making at all levels . This senior role necessitates a distinctive combination of commercial insight, technical comprehension, and exceptional leadership qualities to steer the development of data solutions that address key business challenges and opportunities .      

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the definition and advocacy of a compelling product vision, a robust strategy, and a well-defined roadmap for diversified data foundation product. 

  • Pioneer driving the vision of data foundation that is to empower everyone with good data, cultivating data-driven decision-making culture and mindset by rolling out innovative and impactful data products. 

  • Responsible for defining and diligently monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant success metrics of each data product, therefore to demonstrate the product's tangible impact on key business outcomes and justifying ongoing investment. 

  • Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional team stakeholders to prioritize features and initiatives that maximize business impact and align with the long-term strategic direction of data foundations evolution, coherently to the digital and business transformation.  

  • Work closely with digital engineering, UI/UX, business analysis and other governance-related partners in a way of Agile, translate thoroughly understand of business requirements into clear and actionable tasks to scrum team.  

  • Responsible for managing expectations and effectively resolving any conflicts that may arise among stakeholders regarding competing priorities and project scope 

  • Transparency and clear communication on the product vision, the strategic roadmap, and the progress of initiatives to stakeholders at all levels 

  • Embed the organization's core values and code of conduct within the team, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations. 

  • Familiar with GxP process and framework of pharmaceutical industry is preferred.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.  

  • Demonstrated experience (typically 5+ years) in data foundation product owner or product manager roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity. 

  • Deep understanding on overall concept of data and AI and a solid grasp of data analysis, data engineering and data-as-a-product principle.  

  • Proven ability to develop and clearly articulate a compelling product vision and a comprehensive strategy. 

  • Capable to quickly learn and understand on the organization's overarching business goals and objectives, coupled with an ability to identify emerging market trends and potential opportunities where data can provide a competitive advantage. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships, foster consensus, and drive alignment across different teams. 

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to ensure the data foundation serves the broader organizational needs rather than the specific preferences of individual teams 

  • Customer-centric and product-oriented mindset, with a deep understanding of the methodology for implementing data as a product and a passion for driving data democratization. 

  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data security best practices, and data quality management. 

  • Strong technical knowledge in cloud infrastructure (e.g., Tencent Cloud, Azure Cloud etc.), big data ecosystem (e.g., EMR, Kafka, StarRocks, Spark, Hive etc.), ETL development and monitoring, full-stack programming (e.g., Python, Node.js etc.).   

  • Strong business and data acumen, preferably with 5+ years of experience working in the multinational pharmaceutical industry, possessing a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical commercial business process and model.
