To facilitate this transformation, the Business Operations Business Unit has been established, bringing together existing business service activities, and driving further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity.
This Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and Global Business Units (GBUs) into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture.
Reporting to the Head of Efficiency and Productivity, the Productivity Initiatives Lead plays a critical role in identifying and implementing initiatives that improve productivity so that scarce internal resources and budget can be diverted to chase the miracles of science and fuel future business activities.
Main responsibilities:
Productivity Strategy: Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying and implementing productivity initiatives within assigned scope across multiple business functions.
Analytics and Insights: Utilize advanced analytics techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets, guiding the identification of key areas for improvement.
Initiative Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of productivity initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities for ongoing improvements, recommending and implementing changes that enhance overall efficiency.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business functions, IT, and other stakeholders (located across geographies such as USA, France, Germany, India) to understand business needs, ensuring alignment with productivity objectives. Work with specialized data platform teams to ensure access to high-quality data for analytics and insights generation.
Performance Communication: Effectively communicate the impact of implemented initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership on productivity gains achieved.
About you
Experience:
Experience in data analytics, insights generation, process optimization, or a similar role (Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Improvement Lead).
Experience working across multiple business functions (Finance, Commercial, R&D, M&S, IT, Manufacturing) within cross-functional and global teams.
Proven track record of driving efficiency and productivity improvements in a business setting through implementing data-driven strategies and process improvements.
Soft skills:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex analytics concepts to stakeholders within diverse business units and various audience levels.
Strong ability to understand and translate functional/business needs into analytical and technical requirements.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural team environment.
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive problem-solving attitude. Comfortable working in agile environments.
Technical skills:
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with working knowledge of data analysis approaches and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL). Familiarity with tools such as Python, R is beneficial but not mandatory, as the role will leverage modern 'no-code' and low-code analytics platforms.
Understanding of cloud data platforms and data management concepts (Snowflake or equivalent) to collaborate effectively with technical data teams.
Knowledge of business processes and productivity metrics across diverse business units (R&D, Commercial, Finance, Manufacturing, IT, M&S, P&C).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Languages:
Fluent English, both written and verbal.
