  • Location: Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ (hybrid - 3 days a week in office with 20% estimated travel)

About the Job

We are one bold HEOR team leveraging innovative HEOR to transform patient care and access. As HEOR experts, we lead the generation and dissemination of robust, business-relevant evidence to demonstrate value and drive access to medicines. The HEVA organization is driven by five core values that define how we work and deliver impact. We operate as One Team, partnering without boundaries while pursuing a Bold Purpose through ambitious, measurable goals. Grounded in Scientific Excellence with Relevance and deep technical expertise, we embrace Innovation in Action to transform how we research and deliver Impact for People, creating meaningful outcomes for patients, the healthcare ecosystem, and our colleagues who make it all possible.

The Strategic Planning & Operations Team Lead drives the operational execution and implementation of key processes and practices within Global HEVA – Specialty Care to ensure consistent, timely, and compliant performance of the HEVA organization across all internal and field components of the department, and promotes continuous improvement in quality and performance. This leadership role supports the HEVA mission of conducting, communicating, and translating research that demonstrates the value of Sanofi's products, technologies, and services, in support of the optimal care of patients. Working in close partnership with the Chief of Staff, the Strategic Planning & Operations Team Lead is the operational execution counterpart — translating strategic priorities into disciplined, day-to-day processes and outcomes.

The Strategic Planning & Operations Team Lead provides dedicated resources to accelerate evidence dissemination and pioneer innovation including adoption of AI across HEVA. To accomplish this, the role has direct oversight responsibility across functional areas, including: Evidence Communication & US Dissemination, Publications, and HUB Coordination. The role ensures that HEVA communications, publications, projects, and financial management processes are efficient, timely, and adherent to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), high quality, and compliant with Sanofi policy and relevant scientific, financial, legal, and regulatory standards.

In support of this mission, the Strategic Planning & Operations Team Lead executes short- and long-term operations plans for the department in alignment with strategic priorities, and ensures their effective implementation across the HEVA platform.

Critical areas of operations support include management of department planning; development and implementation of SOPs and other key departmental processes; project and financial management; and compliance and audit readiness. This role also serves as a critical point of contact and liaison with functional support organizations critical to the effective operations of HEVA, including Compliance, Quality Assurance, Finance, Legal, and Procurement.

The Strategic Planning & Operations Team Lead will work with HEVA and SBO leadership to execute against identified areas for SBO/HUB support, build and train cross-functional team capabilities, and instill cross-functional team support for the business. The leader is responsible for executing and continuously improving HEVA's operational processes and for tracking performance in accordance with KPIs established in partnership with the Chief of Staff and HEVA Head.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of HEVA evidence communication strategy, ensuring alignment with the HEVA business partner evidence generation plans and integrated evidence generation plans (IEGPs).

  • Ensure that all IEGPs include a defined dissemination plan aligned with U.S. requirements and intended evidence use, and that HEOR teams are supported with appropriate materials, evidence standards, and guidance for the U.S. context.

  • Oversee the development of compliant, audience-appropriate HEVA communication materials (e.g., newsletters, infographics, evidence summaries, leave-behinds, slide decks, press releases, digital content), ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance.

  • Ensure the team maintains deep expertise in U.S. dissemination pathways for HEOR deliverables (e.g., PIE, HCEI, CFL, general promotion, medical proactive and reactive communications).

  • Oversee exploration and assessment of non-traditional compliant dissemination pathways, including press releases, email communications, and social media/digital-adjacent channels where compliant.

  • Establish and maintain standards and best practices for HEVA communication materials to ensure consistency and quality across U.S. deliverables.

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of HEVA dissemination activities using available qualitative and quantitative indicators, and use insights to refine communication approaches over time.

Publications

  • Maintain accountability for adherence to the publication SOP and other compliance expectations relevant to HEVA publication and communication processes.

  • Oversee the management of core HEVA publication processes and templates across the portfolio, including the Core Value Dossier (CVD) and the US AMCP Dossier.

  • Ensure publication planning is aligned with the HEVA business partner evidence generation plans and medical communications plans to optimize value communications for key products.

  • Supervise publication professionals and contractors, ensuring efficient, expert execution of publication plans and alignment with stakeholders.

  • Monitor the external environment and seek guidance internally or externally to ensure that HEVA publication processes reflect the highest quality, ethical, and legal standards, and are up to date with the changing environment.

Ops / HUB Coordination

  • Manage day-to-day HUB coordination, including utilization tracking, resource planning, and performance monitoring against established KPIs.

  • Use HEVA business and publication plans to calculate resource requirements in the HUB and budget needs for gaps on an annual basis.

  • Monitor team utilization and progress to plan; identify and implement solutions for gaps.

  • Host quarterly meetings with HEVA and HUB Leadership Teams to monitor progress and develop KPIs, progress reports, and quality metrics.

  • Work with HEVA LT to identify activities that can be internalized; engage the SBO/HUB team to collaborate and build a plan for implementation. Functional areas are drivers of the onboarding activities.

  • Develop and maintain processes for efficient day-to-day HUB management, ensuring alignment with HEVA strategic priorities and operational requirements.

  • Track and report HUB utilization metrics to HEVA leadership on a regular basis.

Innovation Incubator (AI & Digital)

  • Lead the operational execution of the HEVA Innovation Incubator, driving the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools across HEVA in alignment with the innovation strategy set by HEVA leadership.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies and innovative approaches—including AI-powered tools—that can improve the quality, efficiency, and impact of HEVA research, communications, and operational processes.

  • Execute against the HEVA innovation roadmap, managing implementation timelines, vendor relationships, and team enablement to bring AI and digital initiatives to life.

  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the HEVA team, encouraging experimentation with new tools and methodologies in a compliant manner.

  • Monitor the external environment for evolving digital and AI capabilities relevant to HEVA activities, and incorporate relevant developments into the department's long-term operations plan.

  • Collaborate with IS, Compliance, Legal, and other relevant functions to ensure that AI and digital innovation initiatives are implemented in a manner consistent with Sanofi policy and applicable regulatory standards.

Launch Excellence & Business Development

  • Ensure HEVA operational processes, evidence communication workflows, and dissemination infrastructure are launch-ready, executing against launch timelines and requirements defined in partnership with HEVA Business Partners and the Chief of Staff.

  • Coordinate with HEVA Business Partners and cross-functional partners (e.g. SILC) to ensure that launch-related HEVA deliverables (e.g., dossiers, evidence summaries, dissemination materials) are developed and executed in a timely and compliant manner.

  • Provide operational support for business development (BD) activities as directed by HEVA leadership, including the development of HEVA materials and processes that support new product or partnership evaluations.

  • Ensure that HEVA operational infrastructure is scalable and adaptable to support new product launches and evolving business development priorities.

  • Serve as a key operational liaison between HEVA and cross-functional launch teams, ensuring strong alignment and communication throughout the launch lifecycle.

Operational Performance Management

  • Execute short- and long-term operational plans for the HEVA department in alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure adherence to plan and other relevant performance parameters.

  • Track and report HEVA operational performance against established KPIs, providing regular updates to HEVA leadership for broader communication.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Project and Financial Management

  • Implement and maintain tools and processes to support operational budget monitoring, project tracking, and vendor management in alignment with budget allocations determined by the Chief of Staff and HEVA Head.

  • Ensure consistent, timely, and effective project management and adherence to financial performance expectations.

  • Monitor the environment and seek guidance internally or externally to ensure that HEVA SOPs and processes reflect the highest quality, ethical, and legal standards; ensure adherence to both broader company policy and relevant external scientific, legal, and regulatory standards; and are up to date with the changing environment.
